• VK is the author of a book titled Securitisation: The Financial Instrument of the Future. The latest edition (July 2006) of the book running over 1000 pages has been published by Wiley Finance, which the world's largest publisher of financial texts. The book is one of the most comprehensive texts on the subject featuring securitisation structures, markets in several countries, legal, accounting, taxation and regulatory issues. The book is read as an authentic text on securitization in over 30 countries world-over.
• Credit Derivatives and Structured Credit Trading, published  by Wiley Singapore is an authentic text on credit derivatives and structured credit trades.
• A concise guide to securitization and CDOs, Introduction to Securitization, co-authored with Frank Fabozzi, was published in 2008.
• VK is internationally acknowledged as an expert on leasing. His book Lease Financing and Hire-purchase, now in its 4th edition in 1996, runs over 2000 pages and is read is several countries and respected as the most authentic text on the subject all over Asia. VK has provided expert advice to regulators and law-makers World-over. For example, the South African Revenue Service consulted VK for framing guidelines on taxation of securitization. The Sri Lankan securities regulator has sought VK's advice on a draft of securitization legislation. India's securities regulator has sought VK's assistance and expert advice in framing securitization regulations in the country. VK has undertaken a major consulting assignment to advise the Government of Jordan on financing of affordable housing.

VK was part of an Asian Development Bank consulting group to advise the Govt. of India on reforms in secured lending law.
